Fives and six is also a gang refence fives being the points on the stars that the symbols have. Latin kings roll under the five star pentagram and gd’s roll under the six sided star of david these gangs are espcaially prominent to mid west and Slugs home town. This may also be a reference to the legendary Five Points Gang of Italian-Americans, getting its name from the Five Points neighbourhood in New York. This gang was depicted in the well-known Martin Scorsese film Gangs of New York.

It definitely refers to the bloods and crips…previous line he states “its the bloods, the crips, the 5s, the 6”…bloods are represented by the #5 and crips use a 6 points star like star of David. Bloods say the saying “5s is poppin, 6s droppin”. He’s referring to gangs definitely but I believe it’s just referencing another way to say bloods and crips. The 5 points gang of the 1800s is a huuuge stretch.

“Bloods, Crips, Five, Six”, are the most notorious street gangs in America. Bloods and Crips originated in California. Five and Six originated in Chicago and represent the two gang nations: “Folks” and “Peoples”.. Peoples Nation uses the 5 point star as their symbol and has several gangs within that nation: Vice Lords, Black Stones, and Latin Kings among others.. Folks Nation uses the 6 point star as their symbol and also has several gangs within that nation: BDs, and GDs, among others..

Everyone seems to think that this song is about things the author can’t relate to or doesn’t agree with, but I believe this song is about taking responsibility for yourself.. Every reference that is made in this song is a statement that society blames everyone and everything else but doesn’t take responsibility for themselves.. Hence the title: Scapegoat.

“Work” is slang for dope or drugs. “J’s” is short for “junkies” which means drug addicts. When he refers to the Jumpman he’s referring to the “Crank Dat Jumpman” dance that was an offshoot to the Soulja Boy/Superman, etc “Crank Dat” dances. He’s saying that his dope is so good it makes junkies dance when they try it.

“J’s” also is slang for Air Jordan sneakers and “Jumpmans” are a type of Jordan branded sneaker. Here he makes a clever play on words using the sneaker references and the drug and dance references at the same time.

Jordan sneakers are typically released on Saturdays. Just like Chris would line up to buy a fresh pair every Saturday and he can’t wait to get his hands on them, he doesn’t want to wait any longer for his girl—he needs her now.

Chris has a huge sneaker collection and devoted a new room in his house to them as he ran out of space in his closets. In an interview with Complex, he said he rocks the Jordan 3’s.

Iran’s president (Mahmoud Ahmadinejad) will blow up your home if you aren’t a practicing Muslim and you don’t go to Mosque services every Sabbath. Iran isn’t a fun place to live, it would seem.

It relates back to the previous line of indoctrinate the children, when you indoctrinate someone you usually do it with false info, hence Ahmadinejad who is a Muslim will blow you up if you don’t observe the sabbath which is what Jews observe not Muslims.

Six sextillion tons is roughly the Earth’s mass, another reference to Gang Starr song “The Planet”

its also a 5%er teaching Six sextillion is one of the answers to the “actual facts” questions from the “Supreme Wisdom” that 5 percenters and nation of Islam candidates have to memorize and answer before they are accepted into the brotherhood. I think it’s question 15. How much does the earth weigh? Answer 6 sextillion tonnes.

The OP stated that this is a reference to a Guru track but it clearly isn’t. Jay Electronica is a well known 5%er and this line is quoted in hip hop (90’s especially) countless times not solely by Guru. Also if you know your 5%er islam, it’s part of the teachings that the white man is supposed to have hidden from the rest of the planet, so its like secret knowledge that the 5%ers try to pass on from generation to generation.

The way he says ‘new tennis shoe’, it makes it sound as if he’s saying ‘new ten-issue’ which could refer to comic books or magazines (remember he’s dissing a “prestigious” hip-hop publication..)

Now that I looked at the lyrics I see tennis shoe, but I always heard it as 10 issue as well, and never second guessed it. Then when Relapse came out, in Beautiful he says “I guess we would have to walk a mile in each other’s shoes atleast, what size you wear? I wear >>10s<<. Only made the play on making it sound like "ten issue” sound more correct, as in a new issue of size 10 shoes.

My idea has always been that he meant this magazine’s only holding up cuz it’s full of ads and showing people what new sneaker Nike’s put out is the inly thing it’s good for.
