You thought I was down
You thought I was gone
Thought I wasn’t around
You thought I left you alone
Shining Down by Lupe Fiasco (Ft. Matthew Santos)

This is most likely written from the perspective of Lupe’s deceased father, but anyone with a dead relative can relate. Once you stop seeing someone everyday it’s easy to think that they stopped caring about you.

There's a concept that works
Twenty million other white rappers emerge
Without Me by Eminem

Similar to how Elvis allowed black music get through to the masses, Eminem plans on integrating rap even more. Some people think that Em should stay away from the genre, but can you really argue with more diversity? Rap is still predominantly black, but people are generally more acceptant of white rappers, such as:

  1. Asher Roth— who tried to make it seem like Eminem was a hasbeen, Eminem responded in “Asshole” from Marshall Mathers LP 2.

  2. Macklemore, better known for “Thrift Shop” and “Ceiling Can’t Hold Us”.

  3. Yelawolf, who is signed to Eminem’s label (Shady/Aftermath).

  4. Dan Bull, a British Rapper well-known for his “Dohvahkiin” rap and other Videogame-related songs, but has somewhat of a following on YouTube.

  5. Chris Webby, a Connecticut-based rapper who has accumulated a large fan base through all the free mixtapes he has given away.

This line also refers to copycat white rappers who tried to come up in the wake of Eminem’s success. Also, in recent years frat rap has become its own sub-genre with numerous emerging artists.

Just a fun fact, The Eminem Show sold more than 20 million copies around the world.

Eminem pronounces disgusting by syllable, so that it sounds like discuss-ting. He figures that all this talk about him being disgusting just means that people like to talk about him.

I don't have your back on this one
I can't even fucking handle it, I'm done
Paul (Skit) (Relapse) by Eminem

Usually Paul is just cautious and warns Em not to do anything stupid, but this time he wants nothing to do with Relapse since it is especially twisted.

Paul has not been heard on another Skit since Relapse. Perhaps the “I’m done” part is fictionally acting like Paul is done representing Em as this was the last straw.
