Michael Bay directed the 1996 action blockbuster The Rock.

Due to the massive profits he’s made, he claims that he can afford to buy silk socks – they’re much more luxurious (and ridiculously comfortable).

Also, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson was in Pain & Gain.

Mark Wahlberg has been in two of Michael Bay’s most recent movies: Pain & Gain (2013) and Transformers: Age of Extinction (2014).

Working with Michael Bay does have its benefits – you know you’re going to make a lot of money – but the film’s likely to get poor ratings by critics and fans alike.

Kubrick calls each and every scene in his movies a work of art in reference to both his general visual style, and the scenes from the movie Barry Lyndon that are based on the British paintings from the 18th and 19th centuries – much of the film was actually shot by candlelight, a famously difficult feat to achieve

“Every Frame a Painting” is also the title of a popular Youtube series by Tony Zhou which dissects the work of famous directors. During Michael Bay’s entrance, he’s shot from below panning around in a circle as he rises, and Zhou cited this as one of Bay’s signature techniques. Perhaps ERB is citing their research sources?

Spielberg and Tarantino outright dissed him, Hitchcock and Kubrick were more subtle, but all of them agreed that Bay was essentially a money-grubbing hack.

Bay has dealt with these criticisms for most of his career and is going to respond to them in this verse by emphasizing that while he lacks acclaim, he is a bigger baller than all of these directors.

Also Bay comes in on a helicopter, helicopters being a common cliche in his films

While sequels are often mocked by critics as an attempt to keep milking a cash cow franchise, Bay takes the fact that executives want to make sequels of the movies he directs as a compliment.

Bay has been a part of 4 Transformer movies, 2 (soon to be 3) Bad Boys movies, 2 Texas Chainsaw movies, soon to be another Friday the 13th Film and is set to produce the next Ninja Turtles movie as well.

Quentin Tarantino has watched countless obscure movies in his life, so him saying that only one Hitchcock film (likely Psycho) was worth his time is extra hurtful.

Megan Fox may be good looking, but she can’t act, and Transformers is where we can see this best.

Since the battle was billed as Spielberg vs. Hitchcock, we assumed that he mentions Transformers because Spielberg was the executive producer. But when Michael Bay (director of Transformers) comes into the mix later, this doubles as a diss towards him.

While Hitchcock is influential enough to be taught to aspiring young filmmakers like Spielberg, Spielberg claims that his talent was overrated and he could point out and improve upon his flaws at a very young age.

The rap begins much like the story of a movie would – a setting, object, and character are introduced.

Spielberg has received 11 Outstanding Directorial Achievement nominations from the Directors Guild of America (3 wins) and 15 Academy Award nominations (4 wins).

Despite all of Hitchock’s acclaim, he only received 5 Best Director nominations from the Academy, none of which he won. Spielberg makes fun of this (with the Yiddish term “schlep” – essentially, a lazy bum) by pointing out that he has as many wins as Michael Bay, a director known for his love of explosions but not his critical acclaim.
