Frogg was a former member of D12. He did the intro for the Slim Shady EP version of this song, but left the group before the LP was put out. So they just saved the vocals and put them on the LP.
He was kidding about having AIDS, not even he knows if he has it. That’s because he’d rather be clueless than know he has AIDS. Not the first time he was afraid of an AIDS test.
This supports that what he just said was true, he just wanted to set the record straight so people couldn’t tell their friends he’s on crack, or something.
Eminem could just out of nowhere say he has something as serious as AIDS, and the papers would make a joke out of it and ruin his life.
Eminem makes fun of how gullible people can be when they hear something shocking, so he says that the best way to make it big is to spread ridiculous rumors about yourself to get attention.
If you really want to be famous, just act like an idiot and embarrass yourself. The press will love it.
Like the earlier lines, he uses a normal statement to set up something more twisted in the following lines.
This line really does merit a “huh?”. But what he means is that he is always laid back due to his drug use, he is never actually sober. So good luck trying to instill some fear in him.
If you grow old and die, everyone forgets about you. If you die in a crazy accident or shooting on top of your game, you became a legend. Em would prefer the latter.
