You don’t want to mess with this guy. The Boston Bruins captain and defenseman is 6'9" without skates. Oh yeah, he also weighs over 250lbs. And to top it all off, he’s really good.

Chara is a 6x NHL All-Star and a Stanley Cup winner. In 2009 he was awarded the James Norris Memorial Trophy for the league’s top all-around defenseman.

He also holds the NHL record for hardest slapshot, firing a 108.8 mph blast during the 2012 NHL All-Star Challenge.

2011 was a huge year for #9. Along with setting an NFL record for most completions in a season with 468, he set career-highs in completion percentage (71.2%, also an NFL record), yards (5,476, 2nd all-time), touchdowns (46, 5th all-time), and passer rating (110.6, 10th all-time).

With his 468 completions, Brees broke Peyton Manning’s record of 450 that he set the year prior. Brees also holds the 3rd, 4th, and 5th place records with 448, 446, and 440 completions respectively.

This award is given to a player (in this case, players), honoring his volunteer and charity work, along with his performance on the field.

This year, Brees shared the award with his former San Diego Chargers teammate LaDainian Tomlinson. On the field, Drew had an All-Pro season, throwing for other 4,400 yards and 26 touchdowns with a 96.2 passer rating. Off the field, Brees was very active in helping to rebuild New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina devastated the region before the season. He also continued to work with causes in San Diego, where he played the previous 5 seasons.

After a bad start to the 2003 season, Brees was replaced by Doug Flutie. In the 11 games that he played, Brees completed just 57.6% of his throws, with 15 interceptions and just 11 touchdowns.

After the season, the Chargers drafted Phillip Rivers, who was expected to take over the starting QB job. But Rivers held out through training camp, and Brees kept the starting job. A little stroke of luck for both the Chargers and Brees, because the QB was about to light it up.

He led the team to a 12-4 regular season record by 65.5% of his passes for 3,159 yards with a 104.8 passer rating. He also threw 27 touchdowns with only 7 interceptions. His excellent season was rewarded with a trip to the Pro Bowl.

A completion percentage of over 70% is a great game for a quarterback. Which makes it that much more unbelievable that Brees managed to finish an entire season with a 71.2% completion rate. On the season, he completed 468 of 657 passes for 5,476 yards (a career high, and 1 yard less than Peyton Manning’s NFL record).

Drew Brees is also tied with Ken Anderson of the Bengals for the second place record for completion percentage in a season with 70.6%

Ah, a little self-deprecating humor!

LeBron struggled mightily in the Finals against the Mavericks. His performance caused a huge discussion throughout the media regarding whether or not he would ever win a ring or if he’s “clutch” enough to ever succeed in big situations.

His average stats for the series would be great for a normal player, but for someone who is expected to be the best player in the league night-in and night-out they were very underwhelming.

17.8 PPG, 7.2 RPG, 6.8 APG, 1.7 SPG, 0.5 BPG

However, he has since proved his critics wrong by winning the next two championships and hopes to achieve a three-peat this year.
