This story is based on a beautiful latino girl I met (but the story itself is made up)

AnnaMenace is quite possibly the best troll in this site. Hats off to you, when I first heard rappers were getting on this site to explain their own lyrics — the first thing I thought of was the concept of going back and forth with dude, telling HIM what HIS lines REALLY meant. I think about it and start cracking up.

Since I kinda got a knack for pulling shit like that, I would it took it further though…

Still, good shit with that troll.

Nas is deep. I expounded on what Nas said. How is that bad? I am so puzzled by the offense you all have taken. I helped every one see the deeper level of meaning in what Nas said.

In 2001 I met a guy in LA who happened to be a Crip (he was a cousin of mine — family, not gang)

Later I learned that he was going a bit wild — that was the last I heard, and this story is based on him

Some of my friends in Tennessee were living so crazy, throwing a lot of parties, etc. I heard they ended up doing some federal time

There was a story about a guy named Preacher in harlem who was allegedly responsible for the kidnapping and murder of an alleged drug dealer / street legend Rich Porter

The opening and first verse of this song are very focused on NY life, so I wanted to open it up and take it to LA in this verse

The story is based on the trial of two people I knew who got locked up — Free High and Worm. Worm is the one who threw up the fist, and Free High grabbed the court officer’s gun.

This made it in the song because I saw him and his mom on the news while I was in the studio recording this song. I recognized his mom from elementary school because I went to school with his sister and she used to be around

Please print the lyrics to Nas'verse on Triple Beam Dreams by Rick Ross. There are 2 bars I can’t make out. Thanx rapgenius.
