Nas thanks for the jewels that started me on my quest for knowledge. I thought learning from hip hop was incredible. But, quickly found myself being labeled as Malcolm during my teenage years. I am a 76' baby that was born in the hood. As an adult I look back and wouldn’t change one thing. You do have fans in the South mane. loL LR,ark.

Damn Nas u fucking brazilian women huh? I feel u, nothing better… I’m brazilian and I always find you saying a few things here and there about Brazil. Just wanna let u know, we got a lot of respect for u down here and I’m one of the few cats reppin Brazil in U.S. hip-hop. It would be an honor to do a song with you one day. Much blessings, one. Ray Dias @brazu01
Yo I´m from Brazil tto man , I´m starting doing my raps , would be a dream to rhyme with Nas man , the best, Illmatic feeds my soul everyday
First I want to say I am 28yrs old and I been listening to you since I was 10 yrs old. I really really love you as an artist! I wish i could get to know you. I been with your music for 18yrs. I hope one day I could really meet you. I understand your music very deeply. There is alot of things I want to say but can’t. One of my favorite songs is Drunk By Myself. I wish I could say more. 1 Love.
First video was talking about Big needing individuals, such as Nas, at the top with him because it is lonely at the top. Goes back to Nas' eagle, caterpillar rhyme(scroll up for the details). Nas made some “wrong” decisions which kept him from attaining the things BIG attained at that point in time – probably saved Nas' life in hindsight – and Nas felt messed up about it. Second video was a sort of continuance.
Just want to come out and say it: you were fucking robbed, man. Thank you for this beautiful album, and fuck the awards.
nas you are too much hey am done in ghana and nas i wnt u to kwn am crazy in love with ur music no homo nas u make me think too much lol been a fan since only God kwns lol u are da truth and i kwn u probaly hear this all da time and even people with high standards tell u this and it might not mean much to u buh nas i will forever love ur music bcus it makes me wiser
My mentor Nas.I’m Michael from Ghana. U are the greatest lyricist there is on our planet earth. Really engrossed in u rtracks at the moment and i think i really didn’t start following your flow at an early age. But now that I have, you’ve made a nigga known what real rap and lyrics are about. Now downloaded all ur albums right from the #ILLMATIC to #LIFE IS GOOD. You are a true #RAP-LEGEND. You don’t bring up vague things in ur rap but spit lyrics on the #REAL life stuff that goes on. Peace bro! U’re one of a kind.-NEVER TO BE CLONED
yo nas im from brazil too but i dont understand anything that you was talking about my country or something like that im a big fan man for me its: Nas, Eminem, Rakim, Big L and Biggie we here got a lot respect for you dawg i’m fifteen years old and i learn english trough your raps and you motivates me to start making my own raps and i got a lot of rhymes on my books and you teach me a lot of other things too thank you for being that rapper that you are
I always have held you in the highest regard, for the longest time since 11 12 i thought only liked eminem and 3 songs from dre, one day little older felt like experimenting and your song purple was like a miracle to find, it opened a new world for me, not in rap though yea that was blown wide open and im a head now, but i just never heard anything like that before. I was a dylan guy and was just blown away by the rhrymes and their effect on me that id never felt. Couldn’t even really hear what you were saying, but it was subliminal. Now after much practice I can hear better. They can talk about ur flow, ur storytelling and attitude, write fat stacks of book, it’s just talk no one can begin to describe how it feels to listen to you alone in a room, not possible. Thanks for all the songs man. Q
Big also rapped, “Niggas wanna hit me, if they get me/Dress my body in linen by Armani.‘’ In his Young G’s Verse , so he did really like Armani merchandise

Is this an error? lol
Knowledge can haunt.
Knowledge is the learning of theories and practices of other persons ideas and creativity. Anyone can learn what someone taught them but visionaries, individuals able to create things not previously thought of or created, are rare; therefore, better in the eyes of Einstein, and Nas… ;)
Smart move, with this 1 seconds clip we need to use our immagination to understand the line ahahah nice jon Nas!
I heard he was hidin' somewhere I can't see
Where is he, the man who was just like me?
Heard he was hidin' somewhere I can't see
And I'm alone, and I realize that when I get home

I love this song, Loving those lyrics from cherry wine, thanks. For answering the questions I’ve always wanted to know… your to deep mentally and spiritual that’s. Why its a bit of a challenge to get the woman You desire , trust me I know how you feel…I know with faith anything is possible …
..ONE LOVE
From a personal and musical point of view this song is absothruthly gorgeous! Good work Nas Keep up the magic with your verses and i hope i find the woman who is just like me that puts me at ease when i’m in trouble, beautiful song!
I think I’m experiencing love for the first time in my life at the young age of 20.. after meeting a lot of lame “hoes”.. it’s nice to finally meet a queen, like the one NaS describes so well.
This song touches me on so many levels… First time i heard it, it brought tears to my eyes… I feel everything that u put into that song… #amazing #RIPAmy
This Song Is Amazing I Just Love It
Now this the type of song that stays in your mind forever…beats, lyrics, hook…the whole damn thing. Best duet by my own account. Fucking Genius shit Nas. RIP Amy
Nas and Amy were introduced by their producer Salaam Remi because the pair reminded Salaam of each other, hence the ‘man who was just like me.’
How they gon' kill that beautiful sister? Nas (Ft. Rick Ross) – Accident Murderers
Shout out to Rap Genius for getting this. This line is referencing “Jerome’s niece” from One Love:

he talks with that softspoken Vito shit naturally. Nas is the dopest!
Love that album, I feel the king. Every time I hear Life Is Good, I just get sad because I know that the rest of rap is wack, and that’s 90% of it. Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Drake, Birdman, 50 Cent are all wack ass rappers. Thats why I give KRS, Nas, and Rakim the title MC.
Nas the don!
Nas may be gr8 buddies bt can he cum close to match em?????
Nas if you’re readin this– please never stop makin music. You are the GOAT, hands down, even if the masses don’t admit it until you’re dead.
You are the last artist in the game makin good music. Everything else is complete garbage (except some real NY underground shit on YouTube with only like 5k views that sounds like 90’s shit).
Nas is like… the last one left… said it in ‘99 and fifteen years later there was never a truer prediction. Kid Wave the fuckin PROPHET- REAL TALK.
Man I still listen to Illmatic. If you stop makin music it’s pretty much a wrap for hip hop. I don’t care if you’re 60, never stop producin hits. WE NEED THIS SHIT.
Thank you so much man.
This is actually Salaam Remi (who produced this track) using a made up voice

Production is sick. When he lays the west coast synth over the crenshaw blvd. story.. sodope
Nas, in my opinion, you are the greatest rap artist to ever bless a mic, I’ve been a huge fan since my brother played “I can” and “I gave you power” Then I heard illmatic.. got an illmatic vinyl framed above my bed.. much love man
So many dope Salaam Remi beats man, and this is one of em. As of late he and J.U.S.T.I.C.E League have added themselves to my top five no particular order. Just super dope beats. Anybody heard the song Hip Hop with Premo and ‘Face? Such a killer track can’t wait for the verified lyrics from Escobar.
I know you probably get this a million times a day… But i really appreciate your music.
Thank you for staying in the rap game for so long and giving us so much.
the voice used here is of Nelson Mandela ,
Shoulda never tippy-toed, thought my eyes were closed

My mans rlly just tried to explain nas' own lyrics to him . FOH son.
AnnaMenace
shut your ho mouth
How the hell do you tell the person who wrote the song what THEIR lyrics mean? The fuck? Lol
AnnaMenace is quite possibly the best troll in this site. Hats off to you, when I first heard rappers were getting on this site to explain their own lyrics – the first thing I thought of was the concept of going back and forth with dude, telling HIM what HIS lines REALLY meant. I think about it and start cracking up.
Since I kinda got a knack for pulling shit like that, I would it took it further though…
Still, good shit with that troll.
Nas is deep. I expounded on what Nas said. How is that bad? I am so puzzled by the offense you all have taken. I helped every one see the deeper level of meaning in what Nas said.
kinda like “Brooklyn Masala” by Masta Ace and “More Trife Life” by Mobb Deep? ooh and your main inspiration “Whats on Your Mind” by Eric B. and Rakim
Real
its Latina my brotha but dope track
Never saw so many men slaughtered and I knew the ho
Responsible; the nigga still alive in a hospital
Midnight they crept in his room and shot the doctor too Nas – Get Down
In 2001 I met a guy in LA who happened to be a Crip (he was a cousin of mine – family, not gang)
Later I learned that he was going a bit wild – that was the last I heard, and this story is based on him
