Eminem still thinks fondly about his past because things were much simpler back then. He didn’t have much money, but he also didn’t have to deal with all of the drama that comes with being in the limelight.

Well when he wrote this song he likely still didn’t have a lot of money, because he didn’t get rich until after this album, “The Slim Shady LP” was released. So I think this line probably is connected to the previous line in the chorus, “To all the friends I used to have, yo I miss my past”, and he’s referring again to how he misses some good times he had with old friends in the past.
