This has two meanings.

First, because he fears the unknown, when he looks at himself, he doesn’t know who’s in front of him – he lost himself.

Second, he likens himself to a person with alzheimer’s disease, a degenerative brain disease that leads to dementia, which impairs your thinking and memory.

He has been in solitary confinement before.

According to psychiatrist Stuart Grassian, a specialist in the area, one of the common effects of solitary confinement includes memory loss, difficulty thinking, and impulsiveness – same symptoms found in dementia patients.

One routine for someone with dementia is to keep a daily journal -he has to refer to his many journals to remember who he is/was.

Since this on the Cold Corner 2 mixtape, Banks keeps this contained to the series. Banks is alluding the being the next king in rap since the rap game is similar to the streets.

Those who are in the “hood (other rappers)” are left with few options to match him so they have to resort to theft (steal his style) to make it.

This line also finishes his Bernard Hopkins boxing analogy; when you’re stuck in the corner and your opponent is hammering on you, you’re “boxed in.”

Bernard “The Executioner” Hopkins known as The Executioner (born January 15, 1965) is a boxer and former Ring Magazine and WBC light heavyweight champion. He became the oldest boxer to ever win a world title at age 46. Having defended a world middleweight title a record 20 times, he is considered one of the greatest middleweight champions of all time

Banks is so good that he can match whoever is challenging him for his “slots” bar for bar regardless if the hook is hot. Hook is also a reference to a boxing hook, which can be devastating in the right hands.

Banks is using boxing as an analogy for the next few lines.
