In English, the line be translated as follows:

Unknown are the names of the flowers that have been trampled

The song itself is kind of like a “marching” song. It speaks about the countless soldiers that died fighting the titans.

Like flowers that are carelessly stepped on, the names of the soldiers that have been sent out to fight the Titans are often unknown. They simply become a statistic.

In the early episodes overpopulation combined with the collapse of the outer wall causes the government to send 20% of the population to their deaths.

The line is German and in English the line be read as follows:

Are you the food?
No, we are the hunters!

Quite possibly the most quotable and badass quote’s from the anime.

The reason these lines are spoken in German – even with a majority of the song being in Japanese – is to speak to the characters of the show. Since the setting of the series is reminiscent of pre-modern Germany and many of the characters have German sounding names. One exception are Mikasa and her mother as they are Japanese. The main character Eren’s last name “Yeager” also sounds like the German word Jäger (engl.: hunter), so this line could also be interpreted to refer to Eren.

From left to right: Mikasa, Mikasa's mother

Sind sie das Essen? Nein, wir sind die Jäger!

The German line explains something like:

Spoken in the form of a public speaker speaking to the masses or a single person asking for an answer.

The message is a very clear statement. Example:

Are you the victim? Do the titans rule the earth? No! We are the hunter! We will eradicate them!

Reference to the anime series, Death Note.
Also here’s a double entendre:
“Light a few L’s” means blaze some blunts or refers to Death Note’s characters Light(left) and L(right),

Also
“It’s not like I’m mellow” means “It’s not like I’m soft” but also refers to Death Note’s Character, Mello

Shinigami are Angels of Death in Japanese mythology. They write the death date and circumstances of a person on a notebook, hence Death Note. The Shinigami played a big part in the series.
