Steez did not kill himself. Predicting the action that the media made for others to hear; It is hard to determine the choice of one’s decision. Steez said dead prez was the song to hear so others can reach out to him. It is the song that let people hear “id rather die by homicide, than going out without a pride”. First time i heard him say that, i was shocked that the media said he committed suicide. In america propaganda can also be used as a murder weapon.

Also could mean that he would rather die representing his beliefs (maybe in riot against the feds) than go out believing in something that isn’t true to him. Alot of meaning to one line. Considering Steez is not the type of person to take someone else’s life I have to think when he says homicide he means suicide. He would be killing himself.

It is very possible steez was taken out by someone, but then again In his last performance he drops an unrecorded song stating “hip hop hasnt took the leap of faith yet” near the end of it. Asap could jus be using steelos ideas for himself, he wouldn’t be the first rapper either. *cough, joey badraps, cough

Although he did say he’d rather die by homicide than suicide, he still died with pride. He didn’t allow the music industry to change him and he died knowing they could never change him
