For most of man’s existence we have been a subject under god. We know of the gods well enough to spot their presence in our lives and in our cultures, however because of this knowledge we are trying to replicate it. We are trying to become Gods in a sense and we know enough to realize we are doing it, but choose to ignore the fact we are.

This man is very old school and he wears a bow tie every time I see him. That bow tie holds all of the experiences down in his gut from bursting out into the world and keeps his clothes (while unfashionable and someone odd to our tastes now) from letting go of his soul.

We want to see everything the universe has to offer but aren’t quite ready to accept the consequences of such. all of our progress in life has paid a toll on us. Many men died when building the first rail roads. Even more slaves where forced into slavery and numerous atrocities has been made against Native Americans. All of these things, while horrid, where the toll we paid for our success.

We want to avoid such travesties in the future but our goals have only grown to extraordinary standards. We either need to relax with our progress or pay a toll and it isn’t as cut throat of an option as you think it would be.

The beckoning is a reference to the beginning of “society” and its call for all of humanity to join it. Through this bond we attempt to create stability but only continue to create destruction. This is something we have continued to repeat without learning from our own mistakes. We seek knowledge in order to save ourselves from this fate but knowledge is also what has caused it in the first place.

The picking of the apple by Adam and Eve gave humanity the knowledge of sin. Sin is considered to be the most destructive force in our lives, without that knowledge would we still be in bliss?

We as people require someone to place all of our issues on. Although we tend to despise those at the bottom of the barrel, without their existence we wouldn’t have an example of what we believe to be normalcy or what is the good way to live.

If there weren’t people in the streets then we would have less incentive to play into the system. Being able to see the consequences of others actions gives more incentive to avoid them.

People in the gutters of society are seen as plagues on us all. We pity them until they decide to stand up and do something about their situation. However that something is often crime. They steal money in order to get food, but we are so blinded by the money that we don’t see the reason for the crime.

Its not really a successful solution, they steal from more successful people (sirens) who flaunt what little they may have compared to the homeless (urchins). They take what they need from them (locks) but don’t have any way to utilize it to the best of their abilities.
