A reference to the 1993, coming of age/gangster movie, A Bronx Tale. In the movie, there’s a scene involving the local mafia don, Sonny, and a rowdy biker gang in a local bar. After the gang assures Sonny that they only want a drink, Sonny allows it. Soon after, they trash the bar and disrespect Sonny, so he locks all the doors and tells the gang that they can’t leave and proceeds to beat the gang down with his henchmen.

The fried chicken spots that you’d find in the hoods of NYC, places like Kennedy Fried Chicken/Crown Fried Chicken, are known for selling more than fried chicken and French Fries. A lot of these places make burgers, pizza, tacos, burritos, rice, beans, sandwiches, etc. Some even operate as small grocery stores. They have more food options than you’d find in the corporate fried chicken spots like Popeyes and Kentucky Fried Chicken.
