This is a reference to the Faceless Men, a guild of highly skilled assassins originally from ancient Valyria in the continent of Essos. They are called The Faceless Men because of their ability to change their facial appearances.
They worship the Many Faced God or the God of Death. They believe that killing someone is bestowing a “gift” on them. Their headquarters is the House of Black and White in Braavos.
The Valyrian phrases “Valar morghulis” (“All men must die”) and “Valar dohaeris” (“All men must serve”) are associated with the Faceless Men.

When Tyrion Lannister accompanied the Night’s Watch on their way to the wall, he befriended Jon Snow, Ned Stark’s bastard son and older half-brother of Bran Stark. Tyrion felt a certain kinship with Jon because they were both looked down upon by their respective families: Jon for being a bastard and Tyrion for being a dwarf.
Tyrion even saved Jon from being attacked by his fellow Night’s Watch brothers and gave him advice on how to properly deal with them going forward.
Before Tyrion leaves the Wall, Jon asks him on his return back to Winterfell, if he could help Bran somehow. Bran had finally woken up from his coma and lost the ability to walk. Tyrion promises Jon that he will help Bran. He designs a saddle concept, based on his own saddle, that will allow Bran to ride horses again (one of his favorite hobbies).
Maester Luwin of Winterfell believes that if Tyrion’s saddle design works, then Bran could technically learn to shoot a bow from horseback (archery is another one of Bran’s favorite hobbies).

Ser Loras Tyrell is grateful that Sandor “The Hound” Clegane defended him from his overpowering demented brother, Gregor “The Mountain” Clegane. The Hound, who hates his brother ever since he burned his face when they were children, could not stand idle as The Mountain was wrecking havoc on his horse and Loras. The Hound was doing what he had to do to stop The Mountain from completely ruining the Tourney, after he was unhorsed by Loras during their joust.
Loras also makes the mistake of referring to The Hound as “Ser,” which is a title given to anointed knights. While The Mountain is an actual knight, The Hound refuses to become a knight. He doesn’t believe in their vows not to mention that his own brother, whom he hates, is a knight.

While at the Hand’s Tourney, Ned Stark inquires about the location of his youngest daughter, Arya Stark. His oldest daughter, Sansa, tells him that she is at her “dancing lessons,” which is the code name for Arya’s sword fighting training with Syrio Forel, a highly trained fighter from Braavos.
Ser Loras Tyrell is a knight and a member of House Tyrell in The Reach. As a result of his good looks, women throughout the Seven Kingdoms are infatuated with him and view him as the epitome of a gallant knight. He is known as the Knight of Flowers, partly because the sigil of House Tyrell is a flower:
and also because he is known for giving flowers to beautiful girls at tourneys. In this case, he hands Sansa a flower, which delights her considering how much she adores Loras.
