People with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) feel the need to retain order with certain patterns and repetitions in order to avoid bad situations, chaos, etc.

New World Order (NWO) is the conspiracy theory in which an elite group is working towards ruling the world.

So Childish provides an interesting link between the two entities with a double entendre. Niggas with OCD just want order in their lives like NWO just wants order in the world.

N.W.A, of course, is the rap group straight outta Compton, consisting of: DJ Yella, Dr. Dre, Eazy-E, Ice Cube, and MC Ren.

Notorious BIG was one of CG’s role models. CG grew up in the projects, and BIG made it out of the projects and became wealthy and successful.

In “Sky’s the Limit” Biggie talks about the struggles of growing up poor, and specifically talks about the pressures to wear clothes that fit in, and the impending persecution that one would face if their gear wasn’t up to par. Childish draws parallels between the experiences Biggie narrates and those of his own life.

Arthur Ashe was a professional tennis player, one of the greats in his time. He was the first African American to win singles titles at Wimbledon, US Open, and Australian Open. He also was a major civil rights leader, and wrote for Time magazine and commentated for ABC Sports.

CG is saying that people looked at him the same way they did Ashe, a famous, succesful, african american nerd. CG and Ashe both can be found wearing short shorts and wayfarer shades.

Sick Boi is the name of one of his first albums as well as his clique he hangs with.

Animal Collective is an electronic indie band. He uses their song My Girls in his mixtape I AM JUST A RAPPER, on his song by the same name.

He says that his clique is an animal collective because they’re all beasts on the track.

Muffins have those annoying papers on them that you hold onto to eat the muffin. Gambino ate the entire muffin, wrapper and all, because he gets paper.

Muffin is also slang for vagina, so CG could also be alluding to his enhanced ability to pick up women as a result of his increasing fame and affluence.

Another explanation to the line is that if you just ate a muffin, you are holding the paper it was wrapped in. So you got (have) paper.

Hot Chip is the name of an indie electronic band from England.

A reference to a Seinfeld episode in which Jerry accuses his dentist Tim Whatley of converting to Judaism in order to tell jokes that would be considered offensive if a Christian told them. Similarly, DC thinks some white hip-hop artists rap just to make jokes
