Mantan was a famous black comedian from the 1930’s that some complain portrayed a lot of black stereotypes in his films. And a “Wigga” is a white boy trying to portray himself with black stereotypes. So I’m basically saying I’m the white wigga version of Mantan… Slow down. Whoa!!

When I received this beat from Stoupe it was just titled “Italiano”. So when I wrote to it I just knew of the song as “Italiano”. Also Vinnie Paz is a full blooded Italian and My grandmother was a full blooded Italian from Sicily named Josephine Orlando. I think the title of the beat and its Italian vibe was the reason A-F-R-O incorporated a lot of his verse to mob culture and The Godfather film. which leads to the next line where I incorporate the great Italian filmmaker / Cinematographer Mario Bava

Ingagi was a 1930’s film in which the title character was a Gorilla who was worshiped by a tribe of women. There was also a sequel called “son of Ingagi”. I also reference Ingagi in the chorus of my song “Die, Rugged Man, Die”.

In the 1980’s a pop group called Bananarama had a hit song called “Cruel Summer”. So I’m saying my summers were cruel back then. And in that summer of the 80’s when that song was being played consistently so was a song by The Rappin Duke in which an MC rapped the chorus “Da Ha Da Ha” doing a Hillbilly John Wayne impersonation, which leads to the next lines of me bringing my gun to redneck cracker parts of Alabama. Notorious B.I.G. also referenced Rapping Duke on Juicy.

The word ‘flipped Mic’s’ has a double meaning 1) the way Big flipped words on the mic. and 2) the way Big flipped MIKE’s on the song victory when he flipped the names of “MIKE – anyone Tyson, Jordan, Jackson”. So to brag how I run things I flipped the slang “I’m the DON” and flipped the names Don Corleone, Don Cornelius, Donald Trump and Don King. the same way Big flipped Mike Tyson, Michael Jordan, Michael Jackson..

If you want to be pedantic it wasn’t anywhere in the Bible that Moses' hair turned white, but it did say that his skin was glowing. But not after the burning bush narrative but after he came down with the Tablets of Stone.

When Moses came down from Mount Sinai, with the two tablets of the testimony in his hand as he came down from the mountain, Moses did not know that the skin of his face shone because he had been talking with God.

This isn’t referring to all skateboarders obviously.. I’ve done songs for Tony Hawk and also have Hopsin who is a legit skateboarder on my album. This line is referring to fake-ass feminine-style skateboarders who skate as part of trendy fashion statement and act like bitches while doing it. A few major pop artists come to mind.

This was a reference to the opening line of my verse in “Chains” Where I say “I’m a dip-dip-diver, Socializer”. which came from old school Hiphop slang from groups like Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five when they rhymed “Dip Dip Dive, So So Socialize, Clean Out Your Ears and Open Your Eyes”

Chains was the beginning of R.A. fandom for me, I heard it on some mix tape I recorded off a Canadian radio show and it took me forever to figure out what it was. Your verse on that song is one of the best of all time. As soon as I figured it out, I went and bought it.
