From Luke 23:34

Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.

This is what Jesus said while he was still hanging on the cross. Even though they were killing him, He still showed mercy and forgave humanity.

This is the 3rd track of Gravity. In it, Lecrae talks about wanting Jesus to walk with him through each and every day. The song samples “I Want Jesus To Walk With Me” by Solomon Burke:

Inside look of this beat from Alex Medina:

I held this sample for nearly 10 years. Found it as I was searching for the sample for Jesus Walks. I tried to flip it a few times but it never came out to it’s full potential. While I was in studio with fellow Watchmen (J.R. & Wit) I pulled this up and the rest was history.

In a television special entitled “The Decision”, NBA player LeBron James announced his decision to go to the Miami Heat, leaving the Cleveland Cavaliers after 7 years. This shrouded James in criticism, having one of his quotes from the special, “…taking my talents to South Beach”, become commonly used in social media by his critics.

The city of Cleveland responded accordingly and basically shunned LeBron, their once proclaimed “Chose One”. Dre feels that he’s being treated the same way. He once again gives notice to his “hot bars” and lets you know that it’s not the “Heat”, the team LeBron left, but his flow gaining momentum.

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.

Such a clever metaphor. As Christians, it’s our job to lead others to the cross that Jesus died on. It’s our job to tell others about The Gospel. Allen Iverson was a legend in the NBA at using the crossover move.

2 Corinthians 5:7
For we walk by faith, not by sight.

James 2:14-26
14 What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? 15 Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. 16 If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? 17 In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.

18 But someone will say, “You have faith; I have deeds.”

Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds. 19 You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder.

20 You foolish person, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is useless[a]? 21 Was not our father Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? 22 You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did. 23 And the scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,”[b] and he was called God’s friend. 24 You see that a person is considered righteous by what they do and not by faith alone.

25 In the same way, was not even Rahab the prostitute considered righteous for what she did when she gave lodging to the spies and sent them off in a different direction? 26 As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.

Greatest player of his time? No. I don’t agree. Errbody knows the greatest player of his generation is none other than Kobe “The Black Mamba” Bryant.
