Canibus knows very well that he cannot compete with Rip The Jacker, especially on a lyrical level. He’s doing his best to explain his side in a calm manner, unlike Rip, who is spazzing out.

Rip The Jacker is so angered that he calls out Canibus to battle him!
Canibus declines, but Rip being the aggressive ego he is, spits some battle bars at him in an effort to get ‘Bis to battle.

The mainstream rappers & record labels just play games, in turn, Rip plays games with them by calling them out. To Rip, it’s nothing but a piece of cake, he can handle them all.

Rip The Jacker is one of Canibus’s alter egos, Rip is the aggressive, angry & hyper-lyrical side of ‘Bis. Canibus does his best to keep Rip bottled up because Rip is usually the one who engages in & handles the beef (LL Cool J, Eminem, etc). But Canibus also recognizes that he needs Rip, he is the one who protects Canibus & writes his most lyrical bars.

This presents a kind of love/hate relationship with his alter ego. On one hand, Rip gets Canibus into beefs, on the other hand, he protects him. It sets up the concept & dialogue perfectly for the rest of the song.

His song Poet Laureate Infinity consists of a little over 1000 bars, but it is no ordinary 1000 bar song. It’s a concept invented by Canibus, involving the mixing of different vocal layers (5 layers in total) with a corresponding rhyme scheme to create alternate phrasing, ideas, and overall subject matter.

The concept & idea is very similar to Hundred Thousand Billion Poems.

The Beanie Sigel beef started when Canibus was dissed on one of Beanie’s tracks, in turn provoking Canibus to release the ‘Who Ownz You’ reply. The track was called “Put Yo Hands Up” and was mainly a diss to Jadakiss but in the song Beanie said the line “I rock ya bells like L, I ain’t Canibus Nigga.” which sparked this song.
