When seeing a homeless person begging for food do you either learn a valuable life lesson about how blessed you are and about helping someone less fortunate than you, or do you walk right past them and close your brain off from what you just saw?

Crooked I is asking a deep question about everyone’s conscience and how they REALLY feel when they see another human being, presumably homeless, on their knees begging for something to eat. The song is about nobody caring and he’s questioning if people really understand what they’re seeing when they see another person begging for food as an example.

Typically people who can do this are able to use that to their advantage to become successful in life as it’s an advantage over other people.
