He’s saying your squad or friends aren’t riding for you, and that you need to assault your calvary (your squad). He uses the word calvary because a calvary is a group of horses that soldiers would ride in battle. It’s a play off the word riding.

They say “imitation is the greatest form of flattery”, so he’s flattered by people imitating him. He also performs assault and battery which are physical crimes, but he does it with his words and lyrics instead.

He’s saying if it’s so easy to be him then you should just do it and jokingly says there’s a how-to available on Youtube about how to be him. Youtube is known for having how-to videos on almost anything you could think of, including something as silly as this.

Washington D.C. is the capital of the United States, where famous buildings such as the White House and Capitol Building are located.. It’s assumed he’s talking about this because in the following lines he talks about war, drugs, and credit.

Gotham City is a fictional American city appearing in comic books published by DC Comics, best known as the home of Batman. This ties along with the theme of the song title which is in the name of the two most recent Batman movies.

Bruce Wayne considers Gotham City to be a big part of who he is, and the fact that Wayne Enterprises helped build Gotham City. Batman is the keeper of Gotham the same way Rapsody is a keeper of her city or what she helps build – hip hop, hence the I before Gotham City.

It’s also a play on words. “I got my city” – I Gotham City

The key to the Civil Rights reformation in America and the ultimate abolishing of slavery was brought about because the reformers were unified and worked together as one to achieve their goals. If we want to make progress after the verdict of the Trayvon Martin case, he is saying that we must again stand unified and not divide.

He is saying the people that decide who is guilty and not guilty are the same ones who are conspiring who they want to shoot and that it could be you.

Being African American, he is saying that he is a descendent, or has the same blood, of the African slaves that America used to ultimately become the world’s most economically successful nation.
