‘Jumping ship’ is an idiom generally associated with someone leaving a position when the job gets difficult. KRIT would never do that. He’s somewhat of a martyr; he’ll feed his family no matter what it takes.
KRIT plays on some nautical ideas: Ship & Sails. Here Krizzle plays on the saying ‘till the wheels fall off’, reinforcing the thought that he’ll never quit.

He did play football, but here Krizzle is talking about basketball. Being above the rim in basketball is referring to exactly what you would think: dunking or laying up the ball. This is seen as the most effective way to score in basketball.
