In slang, a “snake” is someone who will lie to/about you in an attempt to try to get ahead in some facet of life.

For decades, people have been attempting to find ways to make their self immune to the venom of actual snakes. Some of these methods include purposefully injecting the venom into their body in small doses, building up a tolerance over time. Kodak is attempting the same thing, metaphorically drinking “snake” venom in order to gain immunity to the liars that live in his streets.

On the surface, the lavish life Kanye West lives seems like one out of a dream. However, his life has not been without pain and anguish. Whether it was nearly dying in a car crash in 2002 and having his jaw wired shut, having his mother pass away unexpectedly and blaming himself for her death, or dealing with serious mental health issues, his life isn’t as easy as it is projected on the surface. However, Ye feels that getting through these issues have helped him become the man he is today.

Similarly, these lines are relatable to the life of X. His music career was rooted strongly in heartbreak, and at the time of his death, he was awaiting a court hearing for 15 felony charges all related to domestic violence. X had been through a lot in a short amount of time, but the pain and anguish he experienced was reflected beautifully in his music, and in turn, is what eventually made him wealthy.

Famous Amos is a Los Angeles based cookie company. In slang, a girl’s “cookie” is another word for her vagina.

Kanye plays with the double meaning of the word cookie and states that the girl wants to give herself up sexually. Furthermore, he continues the theme of sex —referring to refraining from paying for anal sex— while simultaneously creating a rhyme scheme between Amos and anus. Kanye could also be playing around by saying he didn’t pay for Kim’s famous butt, as she had it before they were together.
