From the early to the late 90’s, the entire Memphis hip-hop scene focused on the occult in subject matter, the most famous being Three 6 Mafia.

“the entire Memphis hip hop scene” didn’t focus on the occult in subject matter at any time. Triple 6 thematically focused on it on their album Mystic Stylez.

That Purrp purp and I get lit, Get Lit by A$AP Rocky (Ft. Fat Tony) 2

Could be referring to purple drank or weed. For all the purple drank shout-outs in his discography, Rocky has actually never been to Houston. From an interview with Complex Magazine:

I’m just really influenced by Houston’s culture. That’s the shit that really gets me going. Houston all the way. I never been there but I just love the culture. I’m quite sure Wu-Tang had never been to China before, but they were influenced [by Chinese culture] and you couldn’t tell them that they weren’t

[The Houston sound] is so attractive. It’s melodic, so it attracted me. I’m influenced by purple drink. I don’t give a fuck. I’ll sip it, so what? I think we all should sip it. Modern-day hipster shit. When it comes to Houston, I’m really attracted to the culture. Swanging, tipping, leaning, all that. That shit is dope

Life's a bitch and I court her
Don't always fuck me good, I'm just too cheap to divorce her
Legendary by Wale

If life is a female, Wale is saying that despite life’s many trials, he would rather stay with the female (life) than choose the alternative (death/divorce).

Also note the dual meaning of the word COURT (*verb meaning to go to great lengths to win favor). With the divorce reference, it takes on a second meaning.

And you know you run shit when they pay you good for walk-ins Legendary by Wale

Contact EJams Entertainment for information on booking your own Wale “Ambition Tour” after-parties — with or w/o a DJ set!!!

peep the “run shit, walk-in” connection

Shameless plug aside, this lyric is a play on the ‘run’ and ‘walk’ aspects. People with prestigious allure (such as most MMG artists) are in such demand that some places pay a lower end fee for something as simple as an appearance.

Zoning my second bottle, focused still on tomorrow
Sober thoughts keep me anxious, Moet gon' keep me calmer

Despite downing two bottles of fancy champagne, thoughts of career and success keep Wale focused

They ain't grossing a million liquid, don't form an opinion Legendary by Wale

Only the 1% can have something to say about Wale’s lyrics, apparently — if you don’t have a million dollars in liquid assets, you’re not worthy of consideration

Smoking loud, blowing down when the law ain't around Illest Bitch by Wale

Wale ought to be careful about where he’s “blowing down” — his native D.C. leads the country in per capita pot busts, and over 90% of the people arrested are black

And I know it's double standards when you're fucking with us
But I pray these everlasting groupies don't fuck up this love
Illest Bitch by Wale

Wale rightly points out both that men are generally celebrated for their sexual conquests whereas women are slut-shamed, and that it is considered acceptable, even part of the job, for pop stars to have sex with groupies
