Scottie Pippen is arguably the most underrated player in basketball history. He forever played under the shadow of the greatest player of all-time, Michael Jordan, so no one ever gave Pippen quite enough credit; nor did he get sufficient opportunity to shine.

But he humbly accepted his role as Robin to Jordan’s Batman, the sidekick, and not everyone can do that. Some people need the shine no matter what. And seeing as self-righteous pride is a sin, those people need the forgiveness of the Lord

Likewise, as a part of the poem’s structure, this draws the readers attention back with boldness and prepares the reader for the upcoming climax

This poem imitates a New Jersey – or even New York – accent, with the dialogue consisting of the men often interrupting each other, giving their takes on America’s involvement in World War II
