Social Networking with Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn | Watch video:

In this module, we’re gonna examine social networking on the internet. And by social networking, we mean networking for the purpose of communicating with others Friends, family, both past and present. We have a variety of Websites that will provide social networking for us. In addition to a variety of programs. So we wanna focus in on three of the most common In today’s internet. And those three are Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. Facebook is probably the most common social networking site at the current time. It allows me to communicate via instant messaging chat, via messages, allows me to keep up to date with others activities via status post, upload pictures and videos In a variety of other tasks. Twitter on the other hand is similar but a little bit less on the back and forth communication. Twitter provides you the ability to provide shorter status updates and still comment but not messages and pictures or it’s a little bit less. In that area. And then LinkedIn is a social networking site specifically designed for business contacts to allow me to communicate with connections, and not quite as open as Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, and some of the others. Again, social networking represents this ability to communicate with a vast amount of people over the internet. Both past friends and present friends and even make new friends in the future and so we want to be able to get in and get involved with these sites. At the same time, we want to remain protected. Let’s start by examining and looking at Facebook.
