Tech is basically describing why he is shunned by the industry.

The people at BET don’t think he’s “hip-hop” enough, so they refuse to play his music.

And the people over at MTV think his name is too explicit, which would make sense considering MTV appeals to a younger demographic.

Tech said on the previous track, Lost Lair of B'zle, that this was supposed to be a part of the OZ Soundtrack, but it didn’t work out due to him not being a large artist yet.

This is also a reference to the book, play, and movie – The Wizard of Oz – in which the protagonist, Dorothy, is from Kansas.

Mitch Bade is a name made up by Tech which he calls someone who is bitch made. It encompasses the entire persona of someone who would sell their friend out to the feds because they did some sheisty shit and they don’t want to get in trouble, etc. The song of the same name is originally off the album Calm Before The Storm, however, since not many people knew of Tech back in the 90’s, he put out Vintage Tech to give light to his older stuff.

Tech is questioning reality because He has always been recording but never thought he would achieve the success he has now.

Am I in the Twilight Zone?

Is a saying that became popular with the rise of the mega popular 1960’s Sci-FI television show The Twilight Zone

Containing drama, psychological thrillers, fantasy, suspense, science fiction and even horror.. Each episode usually ended with a twist, with creator Rod Serling explaining how these particular individuals ended up in the twilight zone.

Tech is creating his own little twilight zone because it was unexpected that he would gain such a large following for not filling in with the mainstream void.

A Shock G line from Tupac’s I Get Around. Tech’s outfits aren’t expensive, and you can tell, Tech biting this line and many more in the song goes with the whole theme of being a slacker and makes the song more funny!
