Rosco’s stage name is a play on Rosco P.Coltrane, the hapless Hazzard County sheriff who never could seem to catch those Duke boys on The Dukes of Hazzard. Rosco’s chain (necklace) is “cold” because it contains a lot of “ice” (diamonds)
It’s a testament to our ironic, rerun reared generation that multiple rappers (e.g. Rosco, the Boss Hogg Outlawz) take their names from a show that was essentially marketed to white Southerners.
“Roscoe” is also old-timey gangster slang for “handgun,” which makes the artist’s stage name an appropriate one for his appearance on this song.
