Game was signed to Aftermath in 2003, then he was placed into G-Unit by Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine during the recording end-process of Beg for Mercy; therefore, it was too late for him to be featured on the album.

After releasing Beg for Mercy, it was time for G-Unit members to release their solo albums. Lloyd Banks released Hunger For More in June 2004 and Buck dropped his album 2 months later. Game was the next obvious choice since Yayo was still fresh outta prison.
