If I hadn't spent the night with you
I don't think we'll ever make this through

At least he didn’t bail on her after sleeping over the night before. He understands that his break-up will be painful so he is trying to distance himself as much as possible before the climax of the disruption in their lives.

Why is she still sleeping?
I wish she'd explain
The family's busy stressin'
about where you are
Studies by Toro Y Moi

Chaz depicts a depressing scene: his girlfriend is asleep, on a seemingly important day, which puts stress on her family. They are curious as to her health and well-being and more importantly wondering where her boyfriend is so that he may resolve the situation.

It sounds like the all-time classic being left at the altar. She’s upset he isn’t there so she buries herself under the covers in her room; meanwhile the family takes out their anger on the absent boyfriend, consoles the girlfriend, and hopes that he returns so they can avoid the controversy altogether.

I'm alright, out here with you
It doesn't bother me, I know you think it does
It's us making grown up calls
You got more than my love
Grown Up Calls by Toro Y Moi

Despite what is ex-girlfriend may think, Chaz’s loneliness doesn’t bother him. He’s an adult; hence, he is making “grown-up” decisions (or calls) to move on. He is expressing his maturity.

Homeland Security NRA Press Conference December 21, 2012 by Wayne LaPierre (Ft. Asa Hutchinson)

Homeland security is an umbrella term for security efforts to protect states against terrorist activity. Specifically, is a concerted national effort to prevent terrorist attacks within the U.S., reduce United State’s vulnerability to terrorism, and minimize the damage and recover from attacks that do occur.

The term arose following a reorganization of many U.S. government agencies in 2003 to form the United States Department of Homeland Security after the September 11 attacks, and may be used to refer to the actions of that department, the United States Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, or the United States House of Representatives Committee on Homeland Security.
