Er bezieht sich u.a. auf die Justizvollzugsanstalt Sennhof in Chur (1603 erbaut), die im Schweizer Kanton Graubünden liegt.

Diese Textstelle löste bei der Obrigkeit Beklemmungen und Sorge vor außenpolitischen Verwicklungen aus und war der eigentliche Anlass für das drastische Verbot, das Herzog Karl Eugen gegen Schiller aussprach. (Er verbietet ihm 1782 das Dichten).

Heutzutage gibt es übrigens so wenig Gauner im Graubünder Land, dass die JVA vielleicht sogar geschlossen wird.
