Never really listened to no No Limit music, man, but I do rock with Mr. Cool and Soulja Slim and Master P. Master P was, I know that he really revolutionized the idea of how to drop albums, dropping them like every week. I never really was there. I listened to a lot more Juvenile and Cash Money.

I see this quote often times on the internet. It’s like a snarling wolf, and it’s like “Wolves don’t bother themselves with the opinions of sheep.” That’s kinda how I feel. And in Chicago, we call somebody a lame. I know people say that everywhere, but really in Chicago, it’s like, “Boy, you a mother fucking lame. Lame ass, goofy ass.” I always been anti-lame. I wasn’t really into it ever. I try to just stay off the box, stay in the present time.

I only went on an island vacation with a girl one time. It was to Jamaica. That was my first time in Jamaica and I was with my ex girlfriend, Natalie. We were in Ocho Rios staying on a private beach called Bangle Beach. I was like 20 years old. Rap had just made me some money for the first time in my life, and I was able to take my girl out to an island. It was my first time really being anywhere over there like that, and I fell in love with jerk chicken. We had a chef named Gloria in our villa, and she would cook all Jamaican meals, ox tail, curried goat, plantains, jerk chicken. That was just it, bro. I was out there on the beach going down to Mobay out at Margaritaville and corny shit like that. It was just magical.

There’s a couple ideas I have on what it could mean. But I really don’t know what it means. I thought it was dope, too, that he opened up his verse because the last couple lines from Pharrell’s hook are from a Jadakiss freestyle with DJ Clue, if I’m not mistaken, where he says, “It’s a shame they could rhyme, they could love crime / Every other night I’m outside with the nine / You ain’t got chips, fuck the world, you got chips / You could fuck the next man’s girl.” So when Pusha opened up his verse with those bars, I thought that was a real dope homage, and I thought it was funny because when I was in the studio with P and he was saying that freestyle, I was like, “Ok, these niggas definitely know that.” Because I had never heard that freestyle before. But they locked in with it and I thought that was fresh.

Suicide, Gallardo. Because you know, you got the Lamborghini Gallardo. I think it has suicide doors. And “sacrificial lamb"—that’s nice, though. That is a bar. When I said that. That was one of those easy bars that just rolled off. I was like, "Woo! I’m gonna keep going.”

Ronald Reagan started the War On Drugs around 1980. It’s crazy because you think about the number of incarcerated people we have in America now—it’s millions. A large percentage of them are African American and Latino people. Now before the War On Drugs, it was like 250,000 people in prison in the whole country. Which was still a lot on a global scale, but you compare that to what it is now and it might be about ten times as many people in prison. And it’s largely because of the War on Drugs. The War on Drugs was not a real war on drugs. It was just a war on the black community and the Latino community. So I say, “This that crack music, you can blame Reagan,” because at the same point in time when you have crack cocaine first appearing on the street, there was something—there was a government operation under Raegan’s administration where they were funding a group in Nicaragua called the contras, because the U.S. government wanted to put a candidate that subscribed to their agenda in office. They were letting the contras move cocaine from South America into America. The profits of which would be used to fund the war that they were fighting in Nicaragua. At that same point in time Ronald Reagan waging the War on Drugs where they got battle rams and they’re kicking people’s doors in and dogs are eating niggas and they’re locking niggas up at a crazy alarming rate—while they’re putting drugs in the street! So, you can put two and two together and see who really created the crack epidemic.

Yeah, Dylan Roof is a horrible guy. Trying to play an insanity plea right now or whatever. Like I said, I just like to put those little tidbits of information on there. And Zimmerman, he’s a mess. You know, he sold the weapon he killed Trayvon with. It’s just expressing opposition to those people.

I was salty when I was locked up because I was supposed to be in the studio with Mike Dean. I had been chasing Mike Dean around for some weeks, and the day I’m finally supposed to get in the studio with him to work on a couple records off the album that he did. You know, that happened. I still have my assistant and them, and my engineer go over to Mike Dean’s crib. So, I told my girl all the notes on the mix to translate to Mike Dean and make the hook feel massive, turn down the synth bass, and turn up the 808’s. She still remembers it. She can still list it off to me. Shoutout to her. But yea, I stay in the studio. I was definitely fresh off that situation right back to the booth.

I don’t know anything about Mindless Behavior. I think the thing about rapping is like making connections to words and culture references. I don’t really know anything about Mindless Behavior, but I definitely had a Masi with the top off that I was driving for a while. And it was pretty mindless, that behavior of mine.
