Celebrities are often given a letter grade to indicate their relative fame. Being an A-list celebrity means that you’re at the top of your game: major movie stars, major recording artists, and other highly recognizable and successful people. Being a D-list celebrity means that you’re… not.

If you aren’t on the A team with Nicki and Beyoncé, you’re a nobody.

This could also mean that if you don’t believe Nicki and Bey are two of the sexiest women on Earth, you cant possibly be attracted to women. Meaning that you play for “Team D” or, in other words “Team Dick”; you like men.

This line might also imply that women who don’t have the talents/skills of Beyoncé and Nicki will resort to providing sexual favors to powerful men (“playin' for team D”) in order to get what they want.

They are also “paid sisters” because of the amount of money they earn: Nicki Minaj currently has a net worth $45 million and Beyoncé has a net worth of $450 million. This duo of powerful and wealthy black women is an inspiration for everybody.

It sounds like Jim is talking to his mother here, reminding her that he is not that tiny little baby she once held in arms. He can’t be eternally viewed by her through that prism if he is ever to grow up/be respected.

In a refreshing bit of honesty, Jim admits that he probably wouldn’t listen to any advice that an authority figure gives him… but not for the reasons you’d think.

As it turns out, whoever’s advising Jim is not taking what Jim wants into account, only what they want for Jim, and Jim can’t become that ideal person they’re looking for.
