The song was used in the 2015 film “Southpaw” as an emotional tear-jerker for the ending scene, however the song was never credited or included on the movie soundtrack.

Ludwig Göransson is a Swedish composer, songwriter and record producer primarily known for his frequent collaborations with Donald Glover (aka Childish Gambino), handling most of the production of his projects since his 2010 mixtape Culdesac. He initially met Glover when they both worked on the Dan Harmon-run sitcom Community, which Glover was an actor in and Göransson composed music for.

In addition to his work for Community, Göransson has also composed scores for other popular sitcoms like New Girl and is a regular collaborator with famed director Ryan Coogler, having worked on all of his films to date, including the wildly successful Black Panther, which Genius covered as part of its “Deconstructed” series. The score went on to earn Göransson his first Academy Award nomination and win. He was also nominated for Record of the Year for his work on Childish Gambino’s “Redbone”, another song covered in Genius' “Deconstructed” series. He later won Record of the Year and Song of the Year for “This Is America”, in 2019.

By simply taking a look at his IMDb page, you can find plenty of composing credits on popular titles like The Mandalorian, Tenet, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Central Intelligence, Tropic Thunder, We’re the Millers, Creed, and Fruitivale Station.

With all this in consideration, Göransson is truly a master in both the fields of cinematic and popular music.
