Honors uses the double entendre of “highlight-real” first as a metaphor to compare his lyrical abilities to the skill of NBA all-stars, and also to demonstrate that he is highlighting ‘real’ music. The idea of highlighting realness is continued into the next song on the album, Second Chances.
