The dreaded swine flu gained attention with its outbreak in Spring. Swine born in the springtime is also a play on words because mayhem sounds like “may ham” and “ham” born in “May” is literally “swine born in the springtime”.

This is a very complex double-entendre-filled line that connects with the previous bar and the bar afterwards, so excuse the lengthiness

  • Ab-Soul would rather get high (through smoking & in terms of success) while living at the bottom (in terms of success/financially) because it feels better to “come-up” after being in a low state

“A red-eye flight is any flight departing late at night and arriving early the next morning. The term red-eye derives from the fatigue symptom of having red eyes, which can be caused or aggravated by late-night travel”

  • Ab-Soul is playing on the words “high,” “rise,” and “red eyes” here. Double Entendre’s Galore:

  • “High” as in being in a “red-eye (plane) flight,” (planes are pretty high up in the sky) but also through smoking

  • “Rise” as in he is rising in height because he’s in a plane, rising in insobriety because he’s “high” off drugs, and arising/waking up from the “last flight of the night”
  • “Red Eyes” as in he is “high” through smoking and also meaning he was in a “red-eye flight”

So you can see why this is so long, blame Ab-Soul, this is some complicated, deep shit. Regardless, Soulo gon' smoke!

Ferris refers to the character of Ferris Bueller played by Mathew Broderick in the movie Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. The movie revolves around Ferris not abiding to his parents wishes and getting into a lot of trouble. Soul has no intention of sticking to the script, he will act as he pleases.

Also a play on words to a Ferris Wheel thanks to his pronunciation of “will” as “wheel.”
