Leandro Bacuna (Aston Villa v Cardiff) Premier League Goal of the Month 11/13 by Barclays Premier League (Ft. Sports Genius)

This was Villa’s first goal in over eight hours of football at the time, and is one of the best free kicks yet in a season which has seen a higher percentage of goals from direct free kicks than any other.

Shane Long (West Brom v Aston Villa) Premier League Goal of the Month 11/13 by Barclays Premier League (Ft. Sports Genius)

Long’s goal almost makes this list through his first touch alone. Controlling the ball that effortlessly when it’s delivered from behind you is incredibly hard. It’s the mark of a talented striker to be able to pull this off.

Adam Lallana (Southampton v Hull) Premier League Goal of the Month 11/13 by Barclays Premier League (Ft. Sports Genius)

There’s a lot of hard-hitting, long-range screamers on this page, but Adam Lallana gives us something more erudite and gorgeous. Picking up the ball 30 yards from goal, he proceeds to scurry his way through three Hull City defenders with skill before calmly prodding the ball home.

Sandro serves Tom Cleverly a special. Premier League Goal of the Month 11/13 by Barclays Premier League (Ft. Sports Genius)

A year to the day since Sandro Raniere scored his last goal (another long-range stunner in a 3-0 win at Fulham), he pops up with this. Tom Cleverly should be embarrassed that he allowed Sandro onto his strong right foot so easily, but you can’t take anything away from that finish. The goalkeeper had zero chance.

Aaron Ramsey (Arsenal v Liverpool) Premier League Goal of the Month 11/13 by Barclays Premier League (Ft. Sports Genius)

Arguably the league’s best player so far this season gave Arsenal a healthy advantage at the top of the table with this stunning volley. He doesn’t even need to look to see where the top corner is.

Asimir Begovic's 100-yard freak goal for Stoke against Southampton. Premier League Goal of the Month 11/13 by Barclays Premier League (Ft. Sports Genius)

Thanks to the wind, Begovic’s clearance flew from one end of the pitch to the other, bounced over Artur Boruc’s head and into the net just 13 seconds after kickoff.

Begovic was so embarrassed and sympathetic for his opposition counterpart that he looked almost regretful that it had happened!

Ashley Westwood (West Brom v Aston Villa) Premier League Goal of the Month 11/13 by Barclays Premier League (Ft. Sports Genius)

Goals always look infinitely classy when the ball swerves off the outside of the boot like this. Not a bad first goal to score for your club, and it earned Villa a point in their local derby to boot.

Luis Suarez's swerving free kick in the Merseyside Derby Premier League Goal of the Month 11/13 by Barclays Premier League (Ft. Sports Genius)

Although Everton’s poorly-organised defensive wall gave Suarez the opportunity to try doing this, it takes a huge amount of talent and technique to actually pull a free kick like this off.

Fulham 2-0 Aston Villa 2013/14 Week 15 Highlights by Barclays Premier League

An absolutely essential three points for Fulham, who get their first win under new manager Rene Mullensteen. Aston Villa aren’t in great form, coinciding with an eight-game goal drought for striker Christian Benteke, and were totally outplayed today.

Fulham are now on 13 points, level with Crystal Palace. With all three of the league’s bottom clubs replacing their managers already this season the relegation pack could be reshuffled over the holiday season.

Sunderland 1-2 Tottenham 2013/14 Week 15 Highlights by Barclays Premier League

Tottenham, who have been battling snotrag “journalists” as much as they’ve been battling on football pitches in the last couple of weeks, move two points behind second placed Chelsea with successive 2-1 away wins.

Like their previous win at Fulham this was an exciting match that Spurs really should have won 3 or 4-1. Jermain Defoe and Paulinho again missed multiple chances each to score. Defoe hit the woodwork twice from close range and skewed wide when through on goal alone.

Sunderland battled, but Spurs defended their every move despite having fifth choice Capoue and third choice Naughton playing in defence. Gus Poyet’s men remain the league’s bottom side.
