This was a riveting match between two teams who haven’t played riveting football lately. New Fulham coach Rene Mullensteen drilled his team well and let them play with more confidence. After taking the lead, they continued to hassle Spurs and almost equalised with the last action of the match, Kasami striking the post.

Spurs dug in though, and should have scored three or four over the course of the match. Jermain Defoe, Paulinho and Erik Lamela each missed eminently scorable chances, with Defoe’s in particular being wasteful. They may have sold Gareth Bale, but Spurs still like to score thirty-yard screamers…

Two of the league’s in-form teams cancelled each other out and both earned a deserved point. Tottenham will be the happier side, keeping a clean sheet away from home against fierce striker Romelu Lukaku, but it was a game of poor quality and poor refereeing, with neither side creating many clear chances to score. Tottenham had the better of the first half, Everton the second. Not really doing justice to “Super Sunday”, this one…

The most exciting moment came when Lukaku accidentally kneed Spurs keeper Hugo Lloris in the face. Amazingly, Lloris got up unharmed whilst Lukaku had to go off injured.

Norwich’s tired, beaten defenders give Edin Džeko far too much space in the area, and the striker has the ability to turn on a penny and find the bottom corner.

David Silva capitalises on a scuffed Norwich clearance from Bassong and inflicts further misery on the away team.

Sergio Agüero, the man who sets up the goal, is ever-so-slightly offside here. The goal shouldn’t have counted. But then with this scoreline, I don’t think it would have mattered…

Really poor set piece defending by Norwich, who can’t get a head to the ball in front of Nastasic despite having a hold of his shirt and the City man barely leaving the ground for his header.
