20 Bernard (Atlético Mineiro) Brazil Confederations Cup Squad 2013 by Confederations Cup 2013

20 year old attacking midfielder who has been heavily linked with a transfer to Tottenham Hotspur and Borussia Dortmund, and looks likely to leave Mineiro after the club’s President himself admitted keeping him may be impossible:

I have five clubs interested in Bernard. I will find it very difficult to keep Bernard after the Libertadores

Bernard himself is coy on a move, dismissing the thought of it as a distraction from his upcoming cup competitions:

There is no chance I will leave before the Libertadores. I have made that clear to Atletico. If they want to sell me, do so after the Libertadores. I want to make history at this club.

There is nothing right now, just speculation. The club’s president has said I am unlikely to stay, that it will be hard to keep me, so I am waiting on a decision. If he decides something, we will sit down and talk and decide what is best for everyone

4 David Luiz (Chelsea) Brazil Confederations Cup Squad 2013 by Confederations Cup 2013

Luiz, who just won the Europa League with club side Chelsea, is naturally a central defender. However, he has won far greater plaudits in the last 12 months after spending some time playing in the holding midfield position.

Team mate Gary Cahill said:

David’s great in that position because mentally he’s defensive, even though he has attributes to go forward. It’s great for us because he sniffs out a bit of danger and never strays too far, so it works well and it’s good we can use him there if need be. He’s really learning the position.
