Typically when a human see’s something they want, their eyes dilate. It’s a natural response from the sympathetic nervous system, which we have no control over. Joey uses this image to explain how alot of artists eyes dilate when they see the money side of music – they loose all creative control.
Furthermore he’s referring to how “weaker” people will resort to pleasing those around them for the sake of being considered cool or accepted.
By “See with your eyes dilated for the sake of the g’s” he could also talking about people who lose their SIGHT in life for the sake of earning a quick buck, aka g’s.
This is referring to using LSD as an entheogen.
