A play on “we pledge allegiance to the flag,” Macklemore is showing his respect for the dj of the party. In a way the DJ is his party government, controlling his fate.
This line shows a kind of “party-patriotism.” After all, the DJ is sacrificing his own dancing time to make sure the music is great for everyone else. What a noble cause.
This line is highly sarcastic, making fun of those parties which are practically religions with the DJ as the God. I don’t think it’s entirely sarcastic, though. If you’ve seen him live he actually emphasizes that he wants everyone to be dancing their asses off during this song. Seems like more of a fun song than a critical song to me, but I see where your coming from.
