Chance is in a good headspace. From how amazing his career is going, to his happy relationship with his girlfriend and daughter, everything in his life seems perfect.

In Chicago, “merch it” is a common phrase used to tell someone that you have someone else who can verify your claim. By saying “I could merch it,” Chance states that he can back up his own claim by showing how perfect his life is.

If Chance died right now, he’d be so sad that he’d have trouble moving on at his own funeral.

The intro to Big Sean’s debut album Finally Famous revisits the KeY Wane-produced instrumental of “Memories,” the ultimate track off of the final installment of the Finally Famous mixtape trilogy. To achieve full cohesion with the ending of the mixtape series, which served as the build-up to his long-awaited debut album, Big Sean opens by playing on the first line of “Memories,” and so the album continues where the mixtapes left off.

The “bang bang” is onomatopoeia, illustrating a shooting noise. Shwayze feels as if he has been shot in the heart by the girl with Cupid’s arrow – he has fallen in love with the girl. However, “bang bang” is actually more like the sound of a gun. This might suggest that Shwayze is so attracted by this girl that he feels as if he has been shot by something more violent and more powerful than an arrow.

Note how all three verses start with the “bang bang”.
