In Washington Heights, drugs, specifically haze which is a strain of marijuana, are pushed around heavily because people are trying to survive or make it out of the hood. They rather not work regular jobs because they live off their meager paychecks and the pay is not enough for necessities, such as paying rent.

Also, Emilio’s enunciation of “ah, okay, okay” shows hints of his Spanish accent, giving homage to his Venezuelan heritage.

The theme of the song revolves around Emilio’s neighborhood of Washington Heights, found in Uptown Manhattan. The number 167 refers to the street Emilio lives around, which he makes an indirect reference to in his freestyle to 5AM In Toronto:

And I be where the haze be, around 168th Street
A block away from that station where that 1 train and A meet

Washington Heights is a primarily Cacuasian and Hispanic populated neighborhood, making Emilio’s claims accurate and who doesn’t love Spanish women?

The speedster of the crew, Alexei Ramirez was my least comfortable pick of the draft honestly, which isn’t to say he’s bad, just not that aware of his abilities since I don’t pay attention to the White Sox.

But after looking at his stats, he could be a potential sleeper pick honestly. 30 stolen bases, .284 batting average and 181 hits, the most of his career, he should be able to do as good as many of the other shortstops drafted offensively.

However, by mother of divine intervention, he needs to tone down the errors, 22 on the season last year. His upside seems to better than his downside but we will just have to wait and see.

What a sweet swing!

Justin Upton, formerly of the Arizona Diamondbacks, can get hits baby! With his .263 batting average, 27 home runs and 70 RBIs, he makes up for the lack of offense Nick Markakis brings, adding a good one two punch with Hunter Pence. Honestly, not much else to say about this guy, he’s a good outfielder and powerful offensive threat. A valuable asset to the team.

All-Star, Gold Glove Award and 2nd place in NL Cy Young votes…all these things describe the incredible year my number one pitcher had in 2013.

With his 2.94 ERA, 241.2 innings pitched and 1.068 WHIP, Adam Wainwright is a workhorse and an efficient one at that. Everything about his game is top-notch, being one of the best pitchers in the NL, only behind Clayton Kershaw. Getting him amongst all the talented St. Louis Cardinals, I am satisfied completely with this draft pick.

Did I also mention that he has 5 complete games last season? He puts in work I tell you! And 219 strikeouts in the 2013 season, the best of his career for the regular season.

Two starting pitchers from the Angels?! No way! It’s true, I love me some C.J. Wilson man. After the Angels snatched him up from the rival Rangers, we got a great pitcher to replace Dan Haren and be the second guy after Weaver.

Wilson is a pretty good pitcher in his own right, with a 17-7 record in 2013 to go along with his 212 innings pitched and 188 strikeouts, second best to only his 2011 run with the Rangers where his team made it to the World Series (Only to lose it to the St. Louis Cardinals)

The main issue I have with Wilson as do many baseball analysts is that he throws way too many pitches and it tends to put him in bad spots at times. If he can get batters out quicker, it would help a lot for the Matoi Vermillions.

For some reason, I seem to find more bad gifs of my players than I do good gifs. (Class clown team of the Fantasy League)

For those who may not know, I am a die hard Los Angeles Angels fan ever since the years where Torii Hunter was on the team (Hope he achieves success on the Tigers) and since I couldn’t possibly get Mike Trout, I got the next best player on the Angels in my opinion.

The ace pitcher of the team, Jered Weaver didn’t have the best year in 2013, with a 11-8 record, 3.27 ERA and 117 strikeouts, nowhere near his best numbers. But if he could have a campaign this year like he did in 2012 with a 20-5 record, 2.81 ERA and 1.108 WHIP, this team’s second main pitcher could help provide quality starts for me.

Vermillion is the last name of Blazblue’s main female protagonist, Noel Vermillion. A shy, clumsy heroine who gets worked up over the smallest of things, Noel has become my personal favorite character in the series and is my character of choice to fight with in the video games.

Noel’s style of fighting deals with speed and quick moves leading in deadly combos using her preferred weapon of choice, her large-barreled handguns. Being the adopted child of a noble family, Noel recruits herself into the army to help restore their honor and nobility after her father criticizes the government and strips their family of their royalty.

Also, while her last name is indeed spelled incorrectly from the word’s actual spelling, it helps to create a double entendre.

  • Vermilion (Correct Spelling) is a brilliant red or scarlet pigment made from the powdered mineral cinnabar and is the name of the resulting color. This connects Ryuko and Senketsu’s use of blood, which is red when exposed to oxygen.
  • Vermillion (Incorrect Spelling) contains the correct spelling of millions, a huge large amount. This helps the competition to understand I’ll be stacking millions of victories and points with this team of mine.

Note: This was kinda unintentional when thinking of team name but now this makes it so much more cool. Double entendre and we ain’t even know it.

Matoi is the last name of the protagonist of Trigger’s new anime series, Kill La Kill, Ryuko Matoi. Donning a parasitic sailor uniform named Senketsu that grants her massive power and speed through its Life Fibers, Ryuko battles against the hierarchy of Honnouji Academy to find her father’s murderer. She’s a badass, determined, hot-headed kickass main character if I must say so myself.

Though the fanservice of Ryuko’s suit when she transforms, as Senketsu drinks her blood, may seem a bit unnecessary, it is easily dismissed and you just appreciate the fighting and interactions of Ryuko and Senketsu. They’ve become one of my favorite anime duos and I had to give respect to the head honcho of the two with this team name.

With nine years under his belt and his new team on the rise in the National League, Aaron Hill gives a good veteran presence to the Matoi Vermillions as well.

The Arizona Diamondbacks acquisition of Hill has boosted his performance immensely with fairly good numbers on the board throughout from last year’s .291 batting average, 95 hits in only 87 games.

Hopefully, he will stay on the field this season to give off some of his years experience to his fellow basemen.
