The power hitter of the Matoi Vermillions, going into his fourth year for Kansas City is going to be a good one and hopefully a repeat of his 2013 campaign.

Hosmer got hits in like an animal, a whopping 188 of them which helped boost him to his .302 batting average. A power hitter with excellent contact and swing speed, it makes him a dual threat when dealing with someone who can hit the ball where ever opposing pitchers may place the ball.

As the last outfielder I drafted onto the team, Markakis had quite a pedestrian season to say the least offensively but where he really shines is on the defensive side of the field.

Consistently on the field, Markakis had no errors deep in the baseball field during the 2013 season and put out runners every chance he could. Being an intricate piece to the Orioles success as of recent seasons, his defense will help to keep points off the board for his team and for my opponents.

Slinging heat and picking off Mike Trout is no easy task.

With one of the best batting averages, if not best for catchers, during the 2013 season, I was pressed to draft a catcher for the team since the more prestigious ones had been drafted ahead of me so Rosario fit the bill amongst the rest.

In his third year, Rosario’s stock and skill is only going up, boasting a .292 batting average while increasing his other stats heavily that will make him a consistent member of the team.

His fielding from behind the plate could be better but everyone has their weaknesses ya know? Though it is his job to defend the plate and pick off runners and catch baseballs…not regretting pick. Enjoy a funny gif of Rosario fail!

In his second season in San Francisco, Pence pretty much matched or exceeded his seasonal averages with a beautiful .283 batting average and 99 RBIs!

What’s even better is his ability to stay on the field! Last season, he played every single game for the Giants, allowing him to make a difference for the team similarly to what I hope he will do for mine. Just gotta avoid dribbling the baseball when fielding Hunter.

With the first pick of the draft, third baseman of the AL East Tampa Bay Rays is the proverbial captain of the Matoi Vermillions. Being a solid franchise player with a mix of power and finesse with good fielding, he is the best representative of how the other members should play.

In terms of his 2013 season, he was consistent with his seasonal averages, hitting 32 HRs and a disappointing yet still solid .269 batting average. He also came in 6th place for AL MVP voting. Hopefully he ups his average this year while toning down on the strikeouts (Was 6th in the league in strikeouts as well).

The bridge is the ultimate description of how helpless Renee seems to feel with this person about to walk out on her. She’s fallen in love with them and she’s fallen hard! Though it is basic in terms of lyricism, the bridge’s simplicity shows how much she wants to prove her devotion to this relationship but struggles to find the means to do so.

Feels so good, it has to be true!

The feelings and experiences Renee shared with this person are unreal to her and it just seems perfect in her eyes. Why would she want to ruin something that can’t be anymore right in her eyes? It’s just hard that the person she loves can’t see them the way she does.

Make yourself comfortable…

Renee pleads with the person of interest to stay for the night so that they may come together and try to fix things. She knows if they leave, that it may be the last time they ever get a chance to make things work.

Normally, the word amend in the context of making changes to a text to make it fairer though in this context, Renee uses it to describe how this love should be declared official and just.

Not this type of amendment though…

With her admission of her love, there’s not much more she can say to try and convince this person to stay with her. If the love isn’t reciprocated, then it is safe to assume that there is not much hope left in the situation.

This person she speaks of is an emotional and spiritual anchor in her life, keeping her stable when she starts to experience negative feelings or face tremendous struggles in her life. Even when she feels her heart leaving her body, figuratively, they pick her up again and this is why she can’t stand to be without them.

The central conflict within the song is how weak and vulnerable Renee is without this person who she dearly loves and is putting so much heart and effort to keep them from walking away from their relationship.

Renee believes that if there was a viable way of proving that she can’t be without them, then they would believe in their relationship as much as she did.

Ironically, this song is a complete turnaround from a track previous to this, Better Off (Alone), with how she distances herself away from her partner and believes she benefits more from solitude while this song chooses to speak on her dependency of another. She’s got her finger puppets though…
