Vic’s levelling this insult against all the other amateur rappers who are nipping at his heels, trying to catch up, but just behind him lyrically and in terms of success.

Vic’s a resident of the Windy City, just like Chance and the rest of the Save Money crew.

Chicago has become infamous for its high murder rate, which, although down in 2013 from last year, still remains notable.

As Chance put it:

They murking kids, they murder kids here

Vic’s recent fame has caused him to think about whether he should relocate, in order to allow himself to progress and grow somewhere else with more opportunities.

Commonly found in cartoons in which a person can see their own future.

However, Mac has no need for such objects to see through time. This could mean that with maturity, he has learned to appreciate the possible consequences of his actions. A big change from his K.I.D.S. days

Wordplay with ‘reign/rain’.

A spitfire is a fighter plane that was used by Allied forces in WW1.

Mike figuratively rains all over everything so that he douses the Spitfire’s flames.

Spitfire is also a company that makes skateboarding wheels, a reference to the line above.

Psilocybin is a psychedelic compound that naturally occurs in some wild mushrooms. When ingested, it causes the user to hallucinate, which involves the pupils dilating, hence the ‘wide-eyed’ effect.

‘Eyes wider than Ohio’ could be a clever reference to the way the word Ohio looks like 2 wideset eyes:

This verse gives us an idea of Delusional Thomas' personality. Essentially he’s a psychotic, rather loopy creation of Mac’s imagination that we were originally introduced to in the Star Room.

Notice the contrast between the content of this song and it’s title: on the one hand ‘Halo’ – a symbol of angelic purity, in stark contrast to the twisted, rather gruesome fantasies that psychedelic Thomas projects.

This could be a reference to the ongoing conflicts raging inside Mac’s mind that he often makes references to in his interviews.

  • Boasting about his success
  • Oral sex, literally rubbing his penis into their faces. Now he’s famous, he’s become much more desirable to the girls that used to hate on him.
