This was the joke that first inspired me to go for the animal theme. I told it to Liz Milch and she loved it. After I had this one, I was like “I need to think of more to justify doing this bit!”

In an alternate draft, I was going to open by saying that Rich used to beat me in video games, and now he’s beaten me in life by getting married first. Well, I’m gonna do what I always did in Super Mario Kart – press Reset. Then I’d pull out an SNES and press the Reset button. When nothing happened I’d be disappointed and get back to the speech. Like alternate 1984 in Back to the Future II, this draft was too dark!
