Geto Boys' “6 Feet Deep” is an emotional rap ballad that expresses the sorrow and heartbreak felt when losing your friend to gang violence. It is also expressed that this is a part of life and there is nothing you can do about it but keep their memory alive.

There was a dramatic increase in violent crime throughout major cities in the U.S. during the early to mid 1990s. This crime wave was for sure felt in the Geto Boys' home of 5th Ward, Houston, Texas, which has been a historically poverty stricken area. They actually lived the feelings they are expressing in this song and it shows.

The hook from “Easy” by The Commodores is repurposed here to dramatic effect, including the fact that the original song lyrics say “easy like Sunday morning”, which in the context of “Six Feet Deep” alludes to the church where the memorial described takes place.

“Box” is another word for pussy. Royce isn’t going to eat a girl out, but he will still pleasure her in other ways.

Royce often expresses his distaste for going down on grls in a couple of songs:

Shady 2.0 Cypher:

You fly, but I ain’t going down on no landing strip

Lighters:

You goin down I’m something you don’t wanna see, like a hairy box
