If anybody wants to know where cynicism is, cynicism is that there's one, two, press people in this gallery. We're talking about Eric Massa 24/7 on the TV, we're talking about war and peace, three billion dollars, a thousand lives and no press?! No press?! You wanna know why the American public is fit, they're fit because they're not seeing their congress do the work that they're said to do. It's because the press, the press of the United States is not covering the most significant issue of national importance, and that's a laying of lives down in the nation, for the service of our country. At March 10, 2010 congressman Patrick Kennedy held a speech about US war casualties. He then turned on the news media, who apparently had done a sloppy coverage of the war.
This gives a pretty great summary of what N.E.R.D sings about in this song, which probably also is why they chose to include a 43 second, dull speech. You wouldn’t include a congress speech like that, if you didn’t really wanted to tell the listeners something
