Eine Droge namens Soma ohne Nebenwirkung und Runterkommen gibt es im Roman Brave New World von Aldous Huxley erschienen im Jahr 1932.
Eine der Methoden, wie das in der dortigen Welt herrschende Regime seine Machtposition behält, ist das kostenlose Verteilen jenes Somas, damit sich die Bevölkerung bei Bedarf ständig in einem Drogenrausch befindet und sich so nicht gegen die Regierung auflehnen kann.
Der Limited Edition von Donnerwetter aus dem Jahr 2006 lag damals ebenfalls in Anlehnung an Brave New World der sogenannte Soma-Sekt bei:
Um den musikalischen Meilenstein gebührend zu feiern entstand in Zusammenarbeit mit Spiritual Beverages Sutomizing und dem Weingut Schloss Geispitz der Pi-eigene “Soma Sekt”, in Form eines flaschengereiften, vorzüglichen Rieslingsektes des Jahrgangs 2004. In der Qualität überbietet dieses deutsche Erzeugnis so manchen Champagner und wird am besten gekühlt serviert. Die erste Auflage ist auf 150 Flaschen limitiert.

Mit B-Dolly ist die ehemalige Pornodarstellerin Dolly Buster gemeint, die sich in den 90ern und Anfang der 2000er durch verschiedene Erotik-Sendungen im deutschen Fernsehen moderierte und unter anderem 2004 auch am Dschungelcamp von RTL teilnahm. Obwohl die Sendung als eines der Aushängeschilder des öffentlich-rechtlichen Fernsehens gilt, erscheint sie häufig wie eine Freakshow, die jeden Tag innerhalb von 15 Minuten internationale Krisen, Autounfälle und Fußballergebnisse kompromisslos aber leicht konsumierbar einem Millionenpublikum in die Wohnzimmer sendet.
