Just like alcohol, strippers don’t solve KRIT’s problems. While they may appear to be fulfilling, they won’t help KRIT stop doubting himself or get back where he came from.

Subject matter is an important part of art and music, especially hip-hop. Blu feels that when he raps about generic topics such as women, cars, and money, the artistic value of his work is compromised.

Blu has always thought of himself as an artist. But instead of becoming a painter, he decided to rap, a profession often characterized by the gangsta lifestyle. Luckily, Blu can pull the gangsta persona off.

Blu dominates everyone else in the game and “eats up” other rappers like take-out food.

However Blu will be doing this a lot less often because he’ll be working in a secluded studio (“the cut”) 24/7.

A quiche (pronounced “keesh”) is a French pie-type pastry filled with meat, eggs, or vegetables.

Blu is going to get so high on purple diesel (a strain of marijuana) that he goes to places no man has been before. This “place” is as vast as the ocean. The first line could be a reference to mars (fitting the title of the song), where obviously no man has gone before.

Even when the weather is cold, Blu always feels happy and warm. He doesn’t let his conditions or other people get him down. When he’s with his girl, everything is perfect.

In hindsight, a lot of the shit you did during your childhood was incredibly stupid. That time you snorted pills with your friend, all the car hopping, fuckin' ratchet hoes, the list goes on. Most of us are lucky to be alive with some of the stupid shit we did during our younger days.

But despite this new awareness of how stupid you were, the memories of all the dumb shit you did are ones that you will never forget.

No-Doz is a caffeine pill. Like a lot of pills, if you snort it it will have a greater effect on you. And that’s exactly what Exile’s homey did back in the day.
