Coincidentally, Ye HAS sold millions of records — over 10.9 million in the US in total. Every single album he’s made (5) has gone platinum. His debut album, College Dropout sold 3.2 million.
Just like Jay said.
I appreciate that!
Ye might be referring to his 2010 album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy or 2008’s 808s & Heartbreaks, BOTH of which came out in the month of November.
Yeah, we do:
Ye’s rant in London where he calls out “Suit & Tie,” the Grammys, and sponsors.
The Adult Swim show for Upfronts, where Ye went in on the paparazzi and his comedic role on SNL.

The radio is controlled by large record labels and independent promoters who pay the stations to add certain songs to their DJ’s playlists. Since record labels can’t legally pay radio stations, these promoters serve as the middle men. As you can imagine, and as Kanye points out, the result is a lack of variety on the air waves since this likely cuts out independent artists unable to compete.
Lack of diversity in ownership of this industry also contributes to the drone of repetitive, low-quality radio play. Clear Channel owns over 850 radio stations, reaching 110 million people.
