I haven’t sold drugs or pimped women in while, but when I did I always did a lot of damage. Use of the phrase “hit a corner” constitutes a double entendre:

  1. Every corner that he sold drugs or pimped prostitutes at, he left fucked up from all the work he did.

  2. To rap on a song or produce it (screwed & chopped being a southern style of slowed-down, syrup-sipping, DJ Screw style rap). Screwed & chopped originated in Houston, UGK’s hometown.

“Ghost Ride It” is one of FAB’s most popular songs and probably the only one most people from outside the Bay Area can name. Produced by Sean T, the beat is a hyphy version of the original Ghostbusters theme song.

While ghostriding was already a relatively common phenomenon in the Bay Area, this single took it mainstream (along with E-40’s “Tell Me When To Go”). Soon even rich white kids everywhere were ghostriding and subsequently crashing their parents' Land Rovers. Don’t try this at home!

Brotha Lynch Hung is a rapper and record producer from Sacramento, California. He is known for his dark, cannibalistic “ripgut” style, making him one of the forefathers of the horrorcore rap subgenre. His style was also rooted in gangsta rap to reflect his affiliation with the 24th Street Garden Blocc Crips.

He started his career with Cedric Singleton’s Black Market Records, where Lynch released his debut EP, 24 Deep, in 1993, followed by his first full-length project, Season of da Siccness in 1995. His 1997 album, Loaded, was his last official release with Black Market and he began releasing projects through his own Siccmade Muzicc label. He later connected with Tech N9ne and Lynch released his first Strange Music project, Dinner and a Movie in 2010.

Lynch has also released collaborative albums, including The New Season with MC Eiht in 2006 and Blocc Movement with fellow Sacramento rapper C-Bo in 2001.

Playing off the previous Rick Ross line, Oscar Blandón lead Nicaragua’s agricultural imports. He used this to push supplies to Rick and open a channel to the Bloods in Los Angeles. Later, Oscar was busted for his drug charges and turned on Ross in exchange for his freedom. Murs uses these lines to compare the science of dealing drugs to science the CIA used to catch Ross.
