Clever line — Braille is a tactile writing system that uses bumps and indentations that represent letters and numbers to allow blind people to “read” with with their fingers. Dre compares how his music “bumps” (goes hard) to the actual bumps in Braille.

Organized Noize is the hip-hop production team responsible for this album (Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik) and most of OutKast’s early work.

André can’t let himself think about all of the people dying around him in this gunfight, because if he stops for a moment and contemplates he’ll leave himself vulnerable to enemy fire. This “fight” is purely fictional however, as he strongly criticizes gun violence later in the album.

Anyone who messes with Big Boi will get “sprayed” with bullets. Big Boi compares this to the insecticide Raid which often comes in spray bottles.

This ties to the previous line about bumble bees, as Raid can be used to kill bees.

Big Boi used to sell crack, but he switched to selling weed. This is a good move if you want to limit the amount of jail you will face if you get caught, but with less risk comes less reward since crack brings in more money.

A reference to Digable Planets' 1992 hit “Rebirth of Slick (Cool Like Dat)”

The original song’s hook is “I’m cool like dat,” and its final verse features the group describing themselves in other “like dat” terms, including the “phat,” “black,” and “stack” lines that Sermon is appropriating here:

Yeah I’m thick like dat
I stack like dat
I’m down like dat
I’m black like dat
Well yo I funk like dat
I’m phat like dat

Sermon is also making a joke here. Digable Planets are considered to be a jazzy, avant-garde outgrowth of the anti-materialistic Afrocentric movement. By flipping the “I’m black like dat” line into a boast about his Mercedes Benz, he’s subverting a positive political statement into one about crass materialism.

In this sense, it’s a joke that’s similar to the line Kanye West dropped 10 years later: “I’m like the fly Malcolm X/Buy any jeans necessary.”
